Hey everyone, welcome to Episode #99 of the Ski Summit Show! This week, we’ve got a great lineup covering everything from fun local events to real estate updates and a gorgeous featured listing.
What’s Happening in Summit County?
First, Benji and I chat about what’s happening around Summit County this week. We share our experience at Silverthorne’s First Fridays, where we participated in the Wish Lantern Festival—what a blast! My kids and I decorated lanterns with wishes and watched them float down the river. We also caught some salsa dancing and live music.
Next, we talk about the Bubble Gum Races in Frisco—such a fun event for the kids. Picture this: little ones racing down alpine slopes to collect gum from the competitors they beat. My kids absolutely loved it! Click Here for the Link >
For the grown-ups, we’re excited about Preacher Lawson, a clean comedian from America’s Got Talent, coming to Frisco on Valentine’s Day. I know I’ll be there, and I’m sure it’s going to be a great night of laughter! Click Here for More Info >
We also talk about the beautiful Lake Loops in Dillon, where you can enjoy cross-country skiing on groomed trails with 360-degree views. It’s stunning out there, though I did share my experience with a bit of vertigo from all that white snow and no reference points—definitely an interesting sensation! Click Here for More Info >
Mystery Guest & Some Dam Facts
Moving on to a bit of Summit County history, I share the fascinating story of the Dillon Dam with my New Mystery Guest Correspondent reporting on location. From the challenges of its construction to how it impacted the town of Dillon, it’s a truly remarkable tale. Plus, we talk about Roberts Tunnel, which transports millions of gallons of water to Denver—talk about impressive engineering!
Market Update
Now for the real estate update! We’ve been seeing a 14% increase in single-family home prices in Breckenridge, but it’s not just about price hikes—higher-end homes are driving this increase, with wealthy buyers moving their money into real estate. We break down what this means for the market and what we expect to happen in 2025.
Featured Listing
Finally, our featured listing of the week is 291 Green Mountain Drive in Breckenridge. This unique home is located in the Beckettall Subdivision and boasts ski-in/ski-out access, beautiful mid-century modern architecture, and expansive views. It’s got it all!
That’s it for this week! Be sure to reach out if you have questions or want more details on any of this, and don’t forget to check out the Ski Summit Homeschool for more resources on Summit County living.
