Hey there! Welcome to Episode 101 of the Ski Summit Show! In this milestone episode, we're diving into some exciting topics happening in Summit County, plus a few insights into the local real estate market. What’s Happening in the Summit? We kick things off by spotlighting a very special event happening this weekend in Copper, Colorado — the Special Olympics. It's a fantastic opportunity to support local athletes, including my son Anders, who will be competing in both cross-country and downhill skiing events. If you're in the area, come out and cheer on the athletes! More info > Summit County Facts Next, we dive into the fascinating history of Keystone, one of Summit County’s most beloved mountain destinations. Did you know it was once a logging and mining hub before it became the world-class ski resort we know today? Keystone’s transformation into a ski haven was the vision of Max and Edna Durkin back in 1970, and it has only grown from there, with recent expansions into Bergmann Bowl, offering even more skiing terrain for all skill levels. Bergman Bowl Market in a Minute In today’s Market in a Minute segment, I discuss foreclosure activity in Summit County and across the U.S. While foreclosures saw a slight uptick in 2024, they still remain well below pre-pandemic levels. I break down the latest stats and what this means for potential buyers and sellers in Summit County.
