There are varied opinions on how to handle these issues, with candidates supporting different approaches to local control and tax strategies. I dive into what some of the key players in Western Slope races have to say, including: Elizabeth Velasco (D): Supports local control over STR taxes. Caleb Waller (R): Supports treating STRs like hotels for tax purposes. Julie McCluskie (D): Cautious about new taxes but supports local regulations. Developer Jake Porritt, who acquired the property for $12.75 million, plans to rebrand the project and complete it by October 31, 2028. Check out more here . Upcoming Vote for Best Western Hotel: Dillon voters will decide on October 1, 2024, whether to approve a controversial waterfront development. This five-story building will include 200 condos, three restaurants, and public amenities. If the project is rejected, an alternative plan with fewer amenities may proceed.
